Ford Fusion Active Preview
With all the new cars out each year, there is one model that is on the horizon that we are excited to share with you. That is the new Ford Fusion Active, which should be released soon. While many of the exact features and specs of the Fusion Active are yet to be revealed, we're sure it will be a big hit on the roads of Nacogdoches and Lufkin, TX. Ford Fusion Active: Powertrain and Overall Design
The new Ford Fusion Active hatchback wagon is replacing the former Ford Fusion sedan. It's a station wagon with extra ground clearance, slotting it in the region of subcompact crossover SUVs. Practically speaking, it's a mix of a crossover and a hatchback.
In terms of powertrain, while the official specs aren't out yet, it's expected that it will be a hybrid that melds two electric engines with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. It's also possible that it may be available with a gas-only powertrain, but nothing is set in stone at this point.
Expected Cabin Features and Design
Once again, specifics have not been released for the Fusion Active, but we can intuit what to expect from the cabin design based on other recent redesigns from Ford. It's likely that at some point in the trim levels, premium upholstery and possibly leather seating will be available. Driver memory settings and power seating should be part of the cabin as well. We can expect a digital dashboard display cluster, possibly customizable.
In terms of space, Ford generally excels in this area, so expect roomy front and back seats with plenty of cubby-holes and pockets to store small items. In addition, expect a lot of room in the back for cargo storage, to allow the Fusion Active to compete with class leaders in cargo area.
Infotainment Technology
The infotainment system will likely be the latest iteration of the Ford SYNC® system, which features over-the-air updates to its software so you'll always be up to date. It also features integration for both Android and Apple devices, with wireless functionality so they don't need to be plugged into a USB port. A 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot onboard is an expected technology as well. As with most Ford vehicles, there will likely be an option at higher trim levels for a premium high-end sound system.
Ford Fusion Active: Intelligent Safety Technology
Finally, and again this hasn't been announced, but is expected, we can expect the new Fusion Active to feature all of the currently expected driver aids and intelligent safety technology features. This includes features like frontal crash warning and mitigation with automatic emergency brakes, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, pedestrian detection, and lane-keeping features.
